The voice/saxophone performance duo and curatorial team I am in, Megan Ihnen & Alan Theisen present… (MIATp), recently became a partner ensemble with ADJ•ective New Music Composers’ Collective and we could not be happier about that fact!

We spoke about this - and many, many more subjects - with ADJ member Robert McClure on a new episode of the Lexical Tones Podcast.

We discussed overtone singing, performing microtonal music, remaining open to a variety of styles, our forthcoming theatrical recital Black Meridian, and the artist as doctor. Tune in to hear compositions by Andrew Rodriguez, Gelsey Bell, Mara Gibson, Alan Theisen, and Nick Zoulek.

The Lexical Tones Podcast offers a weekly conversation with a guest composer, performer, and/or artist creating new works of contemporary art/music. Each creative supplies three adjectives about their work or themselves, and Rob tries to discover additional connections through discussion and listening examples (several complete compositions). These conversations often focus on aesthetics, technique, process, meaning, perception, and the musical origins of the featured guest.
